The right destination depends on whether the question concerns custody, an agency report, a court case, or later state or federal confinement.
- Use the county arrest hub for booking records, photographs, warrant verification, and Michigan FOIA steps.
- For current custody or a recent release, call the County Jail or search MI-VINE. An online absence is not proof that no arrest occurred.
- For a Boyne City, Charlevoix, or East Jordan police report, contact the municipal police department or city clerk described on that city's page.
- For a public case history, use MiCOURT, then ask the 90th District Court or 33rd Circuit Court for records not displayed online.
- For a sentenced state prisoner, use the Michigan Department of Corrections OTIS search. County-jail-only records are excluded from OTIS.
- For federal custody, use the Bureau of Prisons locator. Immigration custody is handled through the federal ICE locator and DHS VINE channels.
